چکیده

Sharing the same philosophy of “relations matter” with computer-supported collaborative learning (CSCL), social network analysis (SNA) has become a common methodology in CSCL research. In this research, I use SNA methods from relational ties, modes, and integrated perspectives to understand attributes relations CSCL. design, conduct, evaluate three analytics on dataset an online course entities, relations, processes. This discussion stresses students’ knowledge inquiry, construction, building through peer interactions. Results show that compared traditional methods, these approaches can reveal more detailed, richer picture processes, particularly, interactional, multi-modal, temporal aspects. Moreover, are generalizable for understanding similar settings. Based results, research proposes methodological implications further apply develop field.

Collaborative learning in computer-supported learning environments typically means that learners work on tasks together, discussing their individual perspectives via text-based media or videoconferencing, and consequently acquire knowledge. Collaborative learning, however, is often sub-optimal with respect to how learners work on the concepts that are supposed to be learned and how learners int...

Computer-Supported Collaborative Learning

omputer-supported collaborative learning (CSCL) is an area of the learning sciences. It is concerned with studying how people can learn together with the help of computers. As we will see in this chapter, such a simple statement conceals considerable complexity. The interplay of learning with technology turns out to be quite intricate. The inclusion of collaboration, computer mediation and dist...

This article provides a summary of research and developments in the field of computer-supported collaborative learning (CSCL). We argue that the contribution of CSCL to vocational training comprises a set of ideas that actually prove relevant beyond CSCL to encompass the whole field of training technologies. Collaborative learning, with or without computers, is not a recipe that automatically l...
